Side note, it is set to display only 500 characters and is 500px wide. It's a better way, IMHO, for a reader to get a decent preview of a topic as they are navigating the topics with their mouse.

Now you should be able to get an almost realtime preview of your post before submitting it. Should auto load images so you'll know if you entered your code right. The preview should be on top of the page. It's a little slow on the load, can't keep up in real time, but it works pretty good.
